Today I checked on our hibernating three-toed box turtle only to discover that he has not survived hibernation. We feel very sad, believe it or not. We really did care for him.
We don't know the cause of death. We did everything by the book to hibernate him. All I do know is that hibernation is a very difficult time for any hibernating animal.
I just thought I'd pass along that our littlest family member is no more.
